In the early 1600's the Elizabethan theatres were shut down in response to the bubonic plague. During this time, Shakespeare produced three of his greatest plays: King Lear, Macbeth, and Antony and Cleopatra. When Isaac Newton was quarantined he spent his day inventing Calculus, and deciphering the mysteries of the stars.
At The New Atelier, we believe that all our days should continue to be filled with fresh inspiration and creative invention. Our 2021 Young Creative Summer Intensive is infused with techniques taken from masters of the arts who have mentored and collaborated with our experts, as well as renowned performing arts schools all across the world. We believe that budding artists can be found at all ages, and make it our mission to provide our students with an outlet and all the tools they need to become independent innovators especially during these trying times.
Our online summer course runs Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm.
Accepting ages 8-16.
Each day students will participate in a movement, an acting, and a singing class.
Our sessions consists of one-on-one instruction (voice lessons and coachings), as well as group instruction including invaluable theory, and fun exercises.
Courses will rotate throughout the week. Details can be found on the Course Catalogue page. On Fridays, students will focus on courses in Storytelling & Performance Technique aimed to inspire them to create their own work.
Sessions are $500 per week.
Participants who refer two other students will receive half off.
While you are a student in our Summer Intensive you will also have access to our feedback on any outside tapes (scenes / monologues / song selections).
